Huh? Choose-your-own-meaning from this CNN.com
caption
Wednesday - July 19, 2006
Forget the debate over
stem-cells for a sec to consider this photo caption from
CNN.com, which has more possible meanings than there are views
on stem-cell research.
This caption is either
saying:
"President Bush holds a
child - adopted as an embryo - Wednesday after vetoing a
stem-cell research bill."
Probably the proper intent if not the
least interesting.
"President Bush holds a
child, who was adopted while an embryo on Wednesday, after
vetoing a stem-cell research bill. "
Damn, that's one fast grow'n
embryo!
"President Bush holds a
child, who was adopted while an embryo on Wednesday, after said
child vetoed a stem-cell research bill.
"
Whoa. The kid, as only a mere embryo on
Wednesday, signed legislation in-vitro that ultimately allowed
him to exist. See the kinds of embryos stem-cell research would
destroy if not for the veto?
or the winner...
"President Bush holds a
child who was adopted, while Bush was an embryo on Wednesday,
after the child (or Bush - take your pick) vetoed a stem-cell
research bill. "
Ah yes, embryo President Bush holding an
adopted child who vetoed a stem-cell research
bill.
Ah, fun with punctuation and free
time.
